We are a fiduciary trust institution charged with the duty of acting for the benefit of our trust clients. Investments

Vaughan Nelson Investment Management, LP, also a SEC registered investment advisor, provides the investment management and research for Vaughan Nelson Trust Company. You can be assured that your account will be handled in a professional manner in keeping with trust fiduciary responsibilities.

Investment Professionals

Vaughan Nelson Trust Company investment professionals are available to review your investment objectives, answer any questions, explain the investment alternatives and oversee the management of your trust. You deal directly with the executives of the company; therefore, you will not be introduced to a new investment officer each quarter who is unfamiliar with your account.

Custodian

A Vaughan Nelson Trust Company relationship includes the custodian function. It will not be necessary for you to open another account at a bank or investment company in order to settle trades. Vaughan Nelson Trust Company’s custodial relationship is with State Street Bank and Trust, one of the world’s largest custodians. State Street has state-of-the-art systems and custodial capabilities which have enabled them to achieve this stature.

Operations

You will receive complete reporting on your trust account quarterly, including a valuation of investments and a breakdown on all the transactions in your account. Copies of these reports will be sent, at your request, to your agents. We will work with your agents to ensure they have the necessary information for reporting purposes.

Administration

You will be assigned a trust officer who will be available to provide any trust administrative and custodial services you need. Vaughan Nelson Trust Company works with State Street Bank and Trust on a daily basis to ensure that the accounts are maintained according to the guidelines.

Depository Agent

Vaughan Nelson Trust Company utilizes the Depository Trust Company (DTC) for movement of securities. DTC is widely regarded as the most comprehensive electronic system yet developed to monitor the movement and custody of securities. DTC is the clearinghouse for most of the trading in the country.

Legal Counsel

We utilize Vinson & Elkins LLP as our attorneys since they have experience with trust and investment companies, and are familiar with all reporting, procedural and statutory requirements.

Corporate CPA

Mohle Adams performs an annual audit and prepares the tax returns for our commingled funds. Weaver and Tidwell L.L.P. prepares the grantor trust income tax forms of personal accounts and PricewaterhouseCoopers performs the annual financial statement audit and prepares the tax return for Vaughan Nelson Trust Company.

Safety Of Assets

Vaughan Nelson Trust Company ensures the safety and control of assets placed in its care through a network of internal and external controls. Our managers, employees, custodial bank, depository agent, legal counsel, and accounting firms work together to provide for the effective management, control and security of Vaughan Nelson Trust Company account assets.

Fiduciary accounts such as trust, agency, and custody, are handled under laws and regulations governing such accounts. They are not considered Vaughan Nelson Trust Company assets, nor are they pledged or used to support Vaughan Nelson Trust Company assets.
